TCAT UPPER CUMBERLAND was formed by combining the resources of the TCAT Crossville and the TCAT Livingston in 2023. The campuses were part of the original State Area Vocational School System, both dating to 1966.

The campuses were approximately 40 miles apart and shared a common overlapping placement and offered several programs that were the same, with some variations in programs.

Combining of the campuses under one central governance, programs were streamlined as were resources. With the additional satellite campuses, TCAT UPPER CUMBERLAND is better suited to serve the workforce, high school partners, and students of the Upper Cumberland.
