The Surgical Technology mission is to provide an educational experience designed to produce competent entry-level surgical technologist in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains that are successfully prepared to take the National Certification Exam. The Surgical Technology Program trains individuals to prepare the operating room, select and care for instruments, provide technical assistance to the surgeon and nursing team during surgery, and breakdown the room after surgery. The program consists of four months of concentrated theory and lab practice, two months of integrated theory and clinical preparation, and six months of clinical
Program requires students to complete 120 cases within the operating theatre within a minimum of five surgical specialty areas to graduate the program and be eligible to sit for the National Exam for Surgical Technologists. The current NBSTSA pass rate for the Surgial Technology Program is 71% for the 2022-2023 school year.The program is accredited through CAAHEP.

Application Procedure
The Surgical Technology program is offered once a year starting in July. Application Packets may be submitted throughout the year. Once the completed application packet is submitted the applicant’s name is placed on the application list. Students are accepted on a first come, first served basis. An appointment is made for the applicant to attend a General Information Session. During this session, applicants will complete orientation (both for program and college admissions)and meet financial aid. The Surgical Technology Application Packet is the same as for any TCAT program with one exception. The current, passing HESI scores must be included in the packet.
Warning! Prior convictions or probations may prevent clinical placement ( a requirement of completion of the program) and gainful employment.
