We are excited to announce that Makena Davis has been chosen as the TBR Student Regent nominee for TCAT - Upper Cumberland!
This recognition highlights Makena’s dedication and leadership, and she is now poised to take the next step in the selection process. Makena, along with other select nominees, will be invited to participate in a virtual interview with a panel of TBR Student Government Presidents.
The Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR) selects three nominees annually for the role of TBR Student Regent, as required by state statute (TCA 49-8-201 (b)). To be eligible, the student must be a Tennessee resident and currently enrolled at a TBR institution. The TBR Student Regent serves as a full, voting member of the TBR Board and is expected to attend quarterly meetings and other committee sessions. In addition to these responsibilities, the Student Regent will represent the student body’s views on various topics that come before the Board. The role may also involve traveling across the state and participating in special events, such as ribbon cuttings and SOAR awards. The Student Regent’s term of service is one year, and the appointment is expected to begin in Summer 2025.
Makena’s selection as the nominee is a testament to her commitment to leadership and her strong representation of the students at TCAT - Upper Cumberland. We look forward to supporting her throughout the interview process and wish her all the best as she moves forward!
Once again, congratulations, Makena, and thank you for your dedication to TCAT-Upper Cumberland. We are proud of you!
